It makes me very happy to see that even though the website has changed, The A.V. Club still knows how to deliver a great takedown.

Those arguments ignore, of course, the fact that Lynch has addressed those things before in his work in masterful ways.

The thing is, I love Lynch’s more abstract stuff like Lost Highway/Eraserhead/Mulholland etc. But that works for those movies, as the payoff of an 18 hour revival of a beloved series it doesn’t.

I’m both a Lynch and TP fan! I’m torn!

Are people really that happy about having a show we waited decades for to return basically ignoring any dangling plot resolutions about its characters, and perhaps erasing the entire show?

I understand, or at least I think I do, what Lynch is saying with the finale. That doesn’t mean I’m happy about it.
