I’m still hoping that Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse showed that animated movies are a viable money-making option for studios to release into theaters, and so studios start putting more resources into them. Angelika Theaters are streaming a lot of films right now for $12 a rental. The big theater chains are just another old media company that refuses to adapt to the future.

The smarter theaters have jumped on this in a big way. In some markets, Marcus, for example, has gone all out and cut its seating by half to two-thirds by replacing every seat with big leather recliners (heated in some auditoriums) and putting Dolby Atmos into the auditoriums. One near me has a full concession stand…

My prediction it will be good, but not as good as The Good Place and the constant Good Place comparisons will make it seem bad, although it is actually good. Sort of like Season 1 of Miracle Workers.
