I get the tonkotsu ramen package (package of miso flavor goo plus 2 packs of refrigerated ramen) made by Sun - which incidentally is the Hawaiian company which provides the ramen served in most American ramen joints. I concur on the Mama Thai noodles. I prefer the Tom Yum, but the pork ramen is a close second, and neither runs anywhere near $8 where I live.

The thing folks always miss about instant ramen is that it’s just a base. You’re supposed to add stuff. A few veggies tossed in can make a bowl of ramen MUCH better, and do not add appreciable amounts of time. Some snap peas, a bit of egg, and some bean sprouts and even Maruchan tastes good!

Oil packets are always the hallmark of quality dried noodles. My classic fancy noodle is Mama, but I might have to somehow generate friends to go in on this with me.
