Fun thought - fully autonomous vehicles won’t need headlights or tail lights. Think about that...

Funny you say that, I’ve seen 2 in the past week, which is a lot given the car:bike ratio this time of year.

Not an engineer, still love this stuff. More please!!

This.

My commute crushes my soul, but if I could work/chill in a robo-car I would be a much happier citizen.

Plus, as a car person, don’t you want shitty drivers to fuck off? I’m looking forward to even partial autonomy, in the same way I want better public transit; less shitty drivers = better experience driving.

Conservatism breeds a lack of irony.

This I cannot star enough. I’m half way there - Prius V for daily/Family, R1200R for fun.

Truer words have seldom been spoken.

Tesla made the patents freely available. Toyota (or GM) could retool a factory and create a near exact replica of the model 3 and sell a million of them in no time. They could crush Tesla like a bug.

Why haven’t they? They’re not trying hard enough.

hmm... not sure if replying to my sarcasm with more sarcasm.

pff, “Experts!”

don’t forget “shade grown, bird friendly”

My first thought when I read that too!

Funny how facts (scientific, economic etc.) have an inherently liberal bias...

So much this!

I dig it - super clean!

Baby boomers.

I had a similar experience buying my fridge Prius V - I had figured out exactly what it would cost, options, colour etc. ; the test drive was fine. The final sales/finance crap put me off the dealership for life.

I have that same shirt! Good thing I live in Canada, where it’s too cold and miserable to just wear a T-shirt...

This doesn’t have enough stars.

The Koch brothers don’t trust the government to make smart handout decisions, you say. Did you read the part about $10 million/minute that their industry gets in subsidies? This is blatantly about killing off competition, and furthering denial climate change.
