Jersey Mike’s and Firehouse really raised the bar for franchise sandwich places.

I don’t like to bring up old junk, but this is not the first time people got ripped off by a manipulator on Twitch. Anyone remember the “Zillian Miracle?” The short version: a guy in a wheelchair had a regular gaming stream to raise money for a new wheelchair. Then one day, he stood up on stream and his whole scam

I’ve heard that when we are pressed, what’s inside of us comes out. It’s up to us after that to make the necessary changes once we’ve found out who we are (or who we’ve become).

I was looking for that on here. Granted, I didn’t watch all the other TV to compare, but there are other nominated performances that aren’t nearly as impressive to me as hers.

If I’m looking for what could be wrong, I kind of see this. If I’m being more generous, I see it as “I think he’s brilliant—even in a non-native language, he can speak well!

Responding party attributes atrial fibrillation and an inguinal hernia as injuries from the incident.”

I just did a blindfolded fast food cheeseburger taste test last weekend because I have cool friends and we do cool stuff. Against my preference, we went with dry cheeseburgers - just meat, cheese, and bun. Long story short, BK didn’t fare as well as I’d hoped.

We all wish we didn’t have to think about this stuff, but we do. If the event fails to meet the standards of participants, it will fail because runners will not attend. Whether it’s kowtowing to social pressure or not is frankly irrelevant. Their aim is to get popular speedrunners to show up so people watch and donate

So many build their identities on the creative work of others. The bands you like, the shows you binge, which comedians you like, the video games you play. Unfortunately, the Internet doesn’t help much because it encourages fan groups. Fan groups aren’t inherently bad, but some portion of them will often pay too much

I think what happened here was that the writers threw in Gaprindashvili’s name thinking (a) she’d be flattered to be included in some small way and (b) that it’d be a wink at the chess lovers in the show’s audience. It obviously backfired on them to an almost ironic level, though, since chess lovers are the only ones

Beans actually kind of mean a lot to may family. They’re not sacred, but they’re a comfort food, they carry some memories from my own childhood, and they’re an easy favorite. Thanks for reminding us all of their value!

I don’t think the Simpson joke has anything to do with the severity of the crime; I think it has to do with the severity of the media response and how people (maybe especially Black people) have debated the event in its aftermath.

Partly, but that’s not the kind of houses we were interested in. We were told is has to do with how all the soil has clay, so houses settle and pretty much everyone has to have foundation work done. That leads to some not-quite-structural issues with the drywall that’s masked to some degree by the texturing, which is

I think for the textures thing, it’s worth noting that it might vary geographically. When moving to Texas over a decade ago, we learned that textured walls were/are the norm in the DFW area, at least when we were buying.

I don’t like raw tomatoes. Not even the “good ones.” If you have to serve me the best possible version of something for me to enjoy it, it’s not the thing for me. I’m not a tomato hipster waiting to be awakened; I’m just a dude that doesn’t like raw tomatoes. Keep them off my sandwiches and burgers and out of my

The Banquets work well for us at my house. Microwave for about 40 seconds. If there’s time, I cut the microwave time to 30 sec and give it a quick sear in a pan and it’s better.

I remember the first episode of the Yahoo season had a Western/Cowboy/Saloon theme.

I was fine with the whole show but I couldn’t get into the Yahoo ones—maybe I tapped out too fast but I’d be surprised if I watched two whole episodes from that season. The western-themed one or whatever the first one was really turned me off from it.

This is some stakeholder-oriented stuff. I feel like I can hear the boardroom conversation about all this. I hope it’s a good move.
