I’ve always been a huge proponent that professional racing needs to get back to foot operated clutch pedals and manual gearboxes. It was once an essential skill set for a racing driver, that no longer is required due to the semi-auto gearbox being in all race cars. It added a far more interesting dynamic to the racing

I think a good follow-up documentary would be to also show the ‘after’ that shows the kids who simply don’t make it to the promised land, and wind up washing out altogether.

Very happy to see the core get that second cup. It seemed like a repeat was quite possible in 2010, and then everything started falling apart in the playoffs. The succeeding years after that 2009 cup hammered home how difficult it is to win multiple cups in the post-lockout NHL. My hat goes off to the Blackhawks for

Hamilton was never going to give an inch, but Rosberg should have backed off and he would have been been in P3, or P4 at the absolute worst. Pointless to try and fight for that position.

Good news...they are transporting Newgarden to the hospital in Fort Worth to get his shoulder looked at. But he’s otherwise okay. Thank god for small favors. That could have been so much worse than it turned out to be.

Disappointing they had to call it off tonight...I’ve always like the TMS race because it’s a Saturday night race, and I look forward to it every year even though I don’t always stay awake. Much prefer IndyCar’s on this circuit than the NASCAR stock cars. Not a fan of that time tomorrow. It’s going to be hot as hell on

Phil Jackson ‏@PhilJackson11 June 7 Newest coaching hire Sean Rook hit the floor when I told him he was hired. Looking forward to his future here #nyknicks

Now playing

Casey Stoner drifting through turn 3 and up over Lukey Heights during the 2009 Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island. That turn 3 drift, at 160mph under immense pressure during a race is unreal to watch.

I’ve always felt the problem with Joker is for all of the talent he possesses, he doesn’t feel like a guy you can quite connect with on that visceral level. When I watch him play, there’s no question intellectually that he is as masterful a talent as we have ever seen. He wears his emotions on his sleeve. Yet in spite

There were a bunch of complaints about Backstrom “cheating” in the faceoff circle before the Caps got knocked out. Sometimes stars get tossed from the circle, but it happens infrequently. Stars have always gotten preferential treatment in pro sports.

Couture might be making a play to the referees on this. But it also sounds more like the sour grapes of a guy who was expecting his team to demolish the Pens without too much effort. Now that they are down 2-0, they are starting to feel the pressure a lot more, and they don’t have much of an answer for the Penguins.

Keeping Geno and Sid split for even strength play makes more sense. When they are on the same line, it’s easier to commit resources to stopping them, and then leaving the Pens with only 2 good lines, where right now, all 4 lines they trot out are good. Their 4th line would be good enough to be a number 3 on most

Since you can remember all of the things that you dislike about the Pens, I’m pretty sure if they win this series, you will remember this much to your dismay. Hell, the Bruins lost to the Blackhawks in the SCF and I still remember it because of how much glee it brought me. You’re not kidding anyone.

Thanks for the reply Quade, I appreciate it. I’ve thought about looking for a E46 M3 periodically, but hadn’t known about the transmission issue in particular. I’ll take a look at the YouTube videos.

Any other problem areas besides the transmission?

Kind of makes you wonder what Ferrari spent all their money on over the winter. With Marchionne’s proclamations, and the general word being Ferrari was really going to step up their engine this year, they have a lot of egg on their face now that Ricciardo was nearly a second faster than the Ferrari of Vettel around

There’s talk the 48 may be done for 2017. They brought out the Sportster Roadster as a really late 2016 model year bike, so something is likely going from the Sportster lineup in 2017.

Not a basketball fan these days, but I’m morbidly curious about the way this series gone. How much of the Thunder’s success can be attributed to them dumping Brooks in favor of Billy Donovan?

Alex, you should be thankful that you can tell your kids and grandkids that you raced at Indy when the cars still looked, and sounded good.
