The only thing Trump has or has ever had was his innate ability to garner headlines and stay in front of a camera. I wouldn’t call him charismatic or personable, but he is a better showman than we’re likely ever to see in politics again. That’s why he’s President.

The primaries shouldn’t start before June the year of the election at the earliest. Have all the primaries over in 4 weeks. Split the vote with states primarily in each of the four major time zones in the US voting in a week. Rotate which time zone goes first every 4 years. Hawaii and Alaska vote with Mountain time.

How many of those 472 companies are owned by a single person? Probably extremely few. If a person had trouble paying the tax, well by golly you can go public and sell off portions of your company to pay the tax, then the company no longer is strained by the need to gain more net revenue. 

Well of course. But that’s the thing. The more important election is the primary, because given the two choices we always need to get out and vote for the Dem. That’s why we need to be MORE critical of candidates in the primary than we will in the general. 

It was probably a mix. I liked Beto’s campaign of visiting every county in TX. It was cheesey but it worked. The bar is so low for a Dem in TX that I didn’t really have to worry about Beto’s policies. I knew he’d probably be more Joe Manchin than Bernie, but whatever.

I can’t remember a situation where I’ve gone from wholeheartedly supporting a candidate to being completely fed up with them so fast. I was a huge Beto for Senate supporter, and would be again if he chooses to run against Cornyn in 2020.
