The decision making wasn’t the worst in light of the bobble, but he was very, very lackadaisical in actually getting back to first and probably would have been safe if he had hustled back and slid..

Now playing

Or how about walkoff “catcher scooped the ball up in his mask and you can’t do that”?

That’s apparently only ever happened once in the MLB, as far as anyone can tell, in 1971. Catchers interference is rare enough as it is, but the bases would also have to be loaded (runners with no force don’t advance on catchers interference) in a tie game in the bottom of the 9th (or later) innings.

I never understood the weird sex shaming people do with this, as in this article. “Lol, for pathetic dads who haven’t heard of pornhub!” It’s pictures of mostly naked, consenting adult women. People like what they like, and there are less healthy ways to get one’s rocks off. Who cares.

Also, please note that Tebow has 82 official minor league at bats in his entire life. Most of the guys he’s up against have 3-12 times as many. Considering he hadn’t seen a game worthy curveball since high school before this past Fall, the fact that he’s even holding his head above water shows remarkable progress, if

There’s maybe a 0.1% chance that a last round draft pick is going to help the organization. Who cares if they take a flyer on a gimmick.

Player with zero regular season professional at bats strikes out against the best pitcher in the world. Interesting story.

None of this stuff is based in reality, it’s intellectual masturbation for academics.

While I imagine his degree is mostly bullshit, nowhere in the linked article, or anywhere else, does it say that it’s an honorary degree. It’s a normal degree that he ostensibly had to complete coursework for; whether or not he actually did is a different question.

Maybe nothing illegal on his end, but he enabled and encouraged an illegal and unethical violation of privacy, and got his two sources (justifiably) fired and possibly in legal trouble.

He’s not a superhero, nor is he the supervillain that Gizmodo loves to make him out to be. It’s the Trumpian view that the world exists without nuance.

The best part of that line is the follow-up:

Any recommendations? Any time I ever look for pedals, I don’t seem to ever find anything between “ancient, cheaply built pedals” and “$500 custom made” pedals.

“(which constitute private medical data!)“

Joke was lame, but not lame or interesting enough to waste bandwidth or outrage on.

Retroactive is the key word, here. They’ve never actually given a shit about terms like “newsworthiness” when choosing what to publish. When they published the Kate Upton/Justin Verlander leaked nudes, there was obviously no “It’s newsworthy because they talk about their sex life extensively!” defense, so they took

There are people who disagree with me; therefore, conspiracy.

People like to see smug, self-righteousness taken down a peg, GM’s got that in spades. See their (or their former editors’) petulant responses to the Conde Nast article outrage. They can do no wrong, in their own eyes.

Which I guess explains why (somewhat to their credit) this post is surprisingly dry and snark-free. They’re certainly in no position to judge.

My girlfriend had the same reaction as me. Pretty sure she once shared the original video on facebook when it first came out—might have even been the first place I saw it.
