They find him about halfway through the book.
They find him about halfway through the book.
Exactly. It's a slippery slope problem.
That's one reason she does it: because it throws people off-balance. Also, the way the actress plays it (with relish!), she just enjoys it, and enjoys the reactions she gets.
About halfway through the second book, I turned to my husband (who has read the whole series) and asked "Is it bad that I wish Holden would just die?" He's just so boring, especially compared to every other character.
In the book, her swearing is partly a habit, partly her way of shocking people and counteracting her "little frail grandma" looks. Shohreh Aghdashloo is taller, younger, and sexier than I picture Avasarala from the books, but that's not a criticism. I think the actress is doing a terrific job.
Maybe, but I think as an actress she's the weak link in this series.
You really should watch it.
Are you watching The Expanse?
I don't know enough of the adaptations to have a very useful opinion about this. In general, I think there's a big difference between an adaptation (taking an original story and adapting it for stage or screen) and a fan work (new stories about the characters, or retellings with alternative POV or outcomes). There's a…
Does he ever question whether the girl on the plane is actually a real girl on a real plane?
There's a lot of better fanfic (though admittedly, not as good on the production values).
I wouldn't say I figured it out immediately, but "girl on plane is really Eurus's inner child" was one possibility I was considering from the first scene.
I remember desperately trying to convince myself that the Chinese episode was some sort of ironic commentary on Victorian Orientalism.
Yeah, I'm nowhere near as smart as Sherlock is supposed to be, and i knew Euros was going to kill the governor's wife no matter what.
I feel like parents who named their sons Sherlock and Mycroft should have named their daughter the feminine equivalent: Harfrost or Shorwind or something like that.
You have to read the S. Morgenstern original, if you can get a copy. It hasn't been in print in years, and last I heard used copies were selling online for like $500 if you're lucky. Very few libraries carry it, either. You'd think with the success of Goldman's abridgment somebody would have brought out a new edition…
Did I miss something, or did they really completely ignore Miracle Max and Valerie?
Or, conversely, great pretentions have further to fall.
I fear that you may be correct.
It had better not be twins.
