Also, that sort of 'two-girls-swooning-over-a-lame-dude-who-can-barely-play-guitar-or-sing' thing happens in groups of high schoolers everywhere in the country, still.. although maybe now it's a lame dude with turntables or something.
Ouch.
I remember when Au Revoir Simone was a 'hip new thing' back when they first started getting recognition over a decade ago and I thought 'how Twin Peaksy are they??' and lo and behold….
Too few people are talking about that.
And the fact that we're not reading big thinkpieces about it about means it did it the right way, as part of the fabric of the story, rather than soapboxing.
Okay, you've seen it more recently so I'll go with you. I remember clearly thinking that they went somewhere that was across the border, but maybe it wasn't clear.
Funny how opinions work. I think Game of Thrones is one of the shittiest things I've ever watched on TV, though I only saw Season 1 - that was enough for me.
Wasn't the 'Pink Room' at One Eyed Jack's which WAS across the border in Canada, and not at the Roadhouse?
even Andy and Lucy seem even more extreme in their childlike obliviousness which must be intententional.
Wasn't he moving like old Coop in some of the early Black Lodge scenes before he goes through the outlet?
Hopefully you know Harry Dean Stanton and Miguel Ferrer are just reprising their roles from 25 years ago.
I couldn't help reading the vague Ep 14 spoilers by someone who saw it accidentally aired in place of 13. Good grief.
'doesn't hold up' is about the most charitable way you could describe that shitty shitty film. The only reason to watch it is for Willem Dafoe's scenery-chewing Bobby Peru.
I loved/hated how the lackey instantly started calling Evil Coop 'boss'. So awesome/terrible.
I think the way they've worked her in is brilliant. Without this week's scene last week's is just vapid and absurd. This week's made me shudder and see last week's in a whole new way. Master directors have a habit of doing things like that.
i am 50/50 on there being an S4 in the works. I think this season will gain recognition over time.
I get your point and hate to be 'that guy' but that's all the more reason why I love the show. It doesn't do ANYTHING you expect a typical show to do.
Then comes the snow globe scene a la St Elsewhere.
This dude reminds me of the story Christopher Guest told that Barry Levinson told him… about how one of the feedback cards to a screening of Rain Man said 'Gee, I really thought the little guy would snap out of it at the end.'
