In those situations; if dropping hints isn’t doing it, just say no. “No, we’re not up for company tonight. Sorry.”

I grew up in a very small rural town of about 1500 people, where knowing your neighbors wasn’t optional. I live in a big city now and I feel more threatened if I *don’t* know who my neighbors are, especially those who live in the same building as I do. Many people I know from similar backgrounds as mine feel the same.

Yes it was, from what I understand! I never watched that show either. Or Seinfeld for that matter. Living Single is the only one I’d consider watching.

I have never watched an episode of that show. I never will, and I’m ok with that. More than ok.

I did not know potatoes could grow mullets.

I’ve said it since 1994: Friends don’t let friends watch Friends

there are more options for that in straight sizes than plus. despite my experiences with them. Universal Standard’s jeans are exactly what you’re looking for. If you size down they also provide a bit of compression which can be helpful.

I love the fit of stretch jeans. I do not love the sweat factor of cotton/spandex blends.

Agree that the article was poorly worded in the description. there have been stretch jeans and durable performance jeans for a long time, but now they’re having babies together.

It drives me nuts when I can’t find jeans that fit which aren’t “pre-distressed”. Ugh. It just ruins them. I’ve invested in the $90 jeans from Universal Standard (because they fit amazing) and have had so many issues with the thin fabric pulling at the seams, and this last round they sent me two pairs that were

$40,000 is pocket change to people with incomes in the tens- and hundreds-of-millions. Nothing to billionaires. It’s hard to for the average person to conceive that.

To be fair to the flight attendant - that’s not an easy thing to call out. Which I’m sure you know.

as a former server, that happens more than you want to know.

Some of us have no choice because we’re disabled or have other issues. Like the woman who took the video.

Yeah, it absolutely is and was for decades before the airlines decided to shrink seat size and leg room in exchange for profits. Maybe you don’t remember never flew before 9/11, but many of us were and we remember.

There’s a local museum that has a retired Boeing 727 as part of an aviation exhibit which was installed in the 90s. It has the original seats and layout ones I remember from flying as a kid. It’s absolutely shocking to see how much has changed first-hand. A lot of younger people never experienced that and have no

the impulse is wrong. If you’re on a plane with other people, you can bet some of them have disabilities and health problems, so you should remember you’re *sharing* the space, act accordingly, and be willing to accommodate people who have challenges you don’t.

Back in 2015, I took a flight to Denver for a workshop. The woman who sat next to me was super-sweet and we had a great convo. She took that flight weekly as her family was in the process of moving from my state to Colorado, and warned me that in the past month there’d been a lot of turbulence on landing during the
