Millenials are a people of their circumstances. If I bought a new car, it’d be a model year old and at the lowest interest rate I could get. We have no choice but go with longer terms because of loans and low wages.

One of the toughest things I deal with is not really having any gearheads to talk to about car stuff. Sure my wife listens and puts up with it but she doesn’t really care. And when I start going in to details of specific cars or unique tech or features everyone’s eyes just glaze over. I’d love to have a friend that I…
As a fellow engineer I can confirm we do know everything.
Happens all the time to me too. I managed to talk a couple people out of buying crap, but they rarely go with what I recommend. The worst was when I suggested my brother get a Mazda 3 Hatch, instead he bought a f’ing Dodge Caliber.
Why not? Maybe you have good taste in souled cars.
Who the heck spends 2-3k on paint for a car that is worth 3k? Go to junk yard and pick up bits needed to get a working radio in (nav not required) and whatever the seat needs. That could easily be had for under $250. For a cheap essentially beater this is a great car and won’t need much to run for a few more years at…
Most unrealistic fantasy? I try my hand at racing (any kind) am actually good enough to snag a team and sponsors. I win a few races/championships and “retire” as a test driver for a supercar company, preferably Mclaren or Koenigsegg. Now I’d be wealthy enough to afford their cars, and I’d drive and work on them all…
I did see a craiglist add like that once. Not sure if it was true but didn’t have the typical red flags for a scam. Was a 2000 Cobra for $2000. If I had the time or money I would have taken a look just in case.
This is high on my bucket/do every winter list
both can work, though I know some rally groups will specifically find a frozen lake to do this on.
I liked them more after seeing them in person, love how little they are. Though to be fair I have a thing for tiny midengine sports cars. My first real sports/project car was an AW11 MR2.
I guess it would be. Look at the japanese and their older FWD fun econo cars. It’s nearly impossible to find a stock integra or civic from that time period, and the aftermarket scene is still big, so I’d guess people will look back fondly.
But as a method of comparison for factory vehicles it’s is useful as most people won’t go 100 or faster while driving. People have made Civics with 400 hp but neither is likely without heavy modification.
ANd he wasn’t even intentionally passing. The Camry driver was just slower and allowed the BRZ to pass. The BRZ is in the right lane the entire video.
Saying he passed on the right implies he was trying to go around the Camry. He was already in the right lane traveling at a comfortable speed which happened to be faster than the Camry. The Wrangler in front of the BRZ passed on the right. The person in the lane has right of way, if the Camry doesn’t have room to…
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer...
See, at this age these cars are going to need soft pieces replaced, think rubber seals and bushings. Not to mention the other bits that don’t like to be still for long extended periods of time. I’d rather get a medium mileage car that is impeccable with a full service history than something with so few miles on it.…
Finger prints on the body, meh, not a big deal. But keep your grubby fingers off my windows. My wife can’t seem to close the door without smearing the windows with every pore on her hand... Ok it’s no that bad but damn does it bug me.
10k miles is low but $30k? You could just get a much newer Camaro or Mustang for that price.
