Holy crap, my old boss had one and mentioned prices were going back up but damn.

I’d say it depends on the kit car and what the prices for the real deal are. Super Performance GT40? Sign me up. These can share like 60% of parts with the real car.

I mean, I like my wife’s Mazda 2 but it’s worth maybe a tenth of that...

You’re doin’ gods work

Why would Mazda spend millions of dollars to produce a prototype race car if not to make money? They just took that money and intended to flush it? I guess Ford won LeMans in 1966 just to show everyone they could, or produced an “ecoboost” GT to show the world what was what. In no way trying to make money off of that

THIS IS THE CAR I WANT!!! so badly...

I loved to imagine the looks on SUV and truck drivers faces as I cruise by in my 90 Miata, and before that 86 MR2. Snow tires are the best.

the 2000GT is a significant car, but I don’t know that it’s necessarily comparable to the RX-7. The 240Z didn’t see sales numbers higher than the RX-7's, and both were used in IMSA and SCCA racing. I’ll give you that the Celica had a significant presence in rally, and probably sold more than the RX-7 considering it’s

I’d love to get a GSL-SE to restore and hoon on the weekends...

At the time Mazda was a small relatively company though (as it still is today). For it to pull in those kind of number was impressive, but there’s a reason why people forget about the 323 GTX and other options back in the day. Mazda just wasn’t that big or popular. That generation RX-7 was also very competitive in

YES! AWD and ground clearance is overrated. Just remember winter tires.

The windshield wiper thing is more so to keep the wipers from freezing up in ice than clean the windshield. It only took one icy day and a torn wiper blade on the way home in white out conditions to convince me that it was a good idea.

See you gotta wait and pick it up for $4k and after some other shmuck did all the repairs.

Life’s too short to drive something boring. I’m living through a boring “responsible” buy right now and I hate it.

Our factory have plenty of electricians and plumbers, and those are the better paying more interesting jobs. Factories are nice for job security, someone else is getting the work and just paying you. Plus the people who aren’t smart enough to be pipefitter or electricians love factory jobs cause it requires almost

You vastly over estimate the qualifications of the people who work on these machines. For the most part they are tradesmen, by in large most of them have vocational training, but no college degrees. Controls engineers are about as close as you get to actually working on the machines with a degree. As a process

Yeah, I agree it’s not my favorite. I prefer simpler, cleaner designs (like Astons wings or Mercedes Tri-star), or if they’re going to use color, make something colorful (like Alfa’s snake or even Caddy’s shield)

Not sure where you read that from, if memory serves it was based on a charcoal company’s logo.

These hacks are popular because pool noodles are everywhere. I can pick one up during the summer for a dollar a piece at the local dollar stores. They end up in practically every store regardless of type. Also it turns out foam can be a really useful for a lot of DIY projects.

Mazda is the first that comes to mind, and Datsun was completely rebranded to Nissan. Brand logos have changed over the years, but generally they’re close enough that you barely notice. This is drastic.
