Similarly, we can envision David Tracy suffering a series of painful self-inflicted electrical burns.

I think, of all the fears that can genuinely be expected of an easy EV future, leaky batteries festering in someone’s yard are probably one of the lesser ones.
simple. Its proof the people dont give a shit about whats underhood as long as it looks pretty and it works.
In EV terms right now, Chevy has the problem where it works, but it doesnt look pretty. Startups have the problem of its pretty but doesnt work, and Tesla has both.
Maybe we should have a bunch of automotive engineers get together for beer and Mexican food so they can come up with some standards. I hear the El Torito restaurant is a good spot for such meetings.
first thing i’d do is install a soundcard and exterior speakers so it can blast v10 f1 engine noises when i drive around...
They used to have that but had to remove it when several Tesla owners died fording rivers in their cars or got shot while sneaking up on strangers.
EV’s no longer have battery acid. Not since GM’s EV-1. Dry batteries like Li-Ion are used.
The future is some jackhole in an overclocked Alienware box flying by in the left lane, then letting the magic smoke out of his over-clocked processor and bursting into flames in the middle of the highway? Quick reboot ain’t gonna fix that.
“leaking battery acid”
Of course current situation of rednecks having partially-disassembled junk cars leaking oil, coolant, gas AND battery acid into the groundwater is much better.
To me this looks like the bastard offspring of a Camaro and a BMW 1 series
I will prove you wrong. People did go buy the GT86/BRZ. They sell just as good as the Miata and any company coming into a segment should have did their homework on how much that segment sells. If you think you are going to create a competitor to the Miata (which has 20 years of sales numbers to go off of) and think…
I’m all for turbo buttons and glide adapters...
Keep on keepin’ on.
At least from this angle, it looks like a Camaro and a 1-series snuck off for a weekend and this came along nine months later.
You should grab your morning coffee or switch to decaf if you already have, you’re a bit cranky today. Every morning they post a neat car with a 2-3 line “article” under it. Sorry this one didn’t meet your standards for journalism or meet your minimum quota for “reasoning”.
Or maybe I just like posting pictures in the morning: http://jalopnik.com/tag/images
I don’t care for any of these captioned-photo post, but I’m assuming they’re meant to generate discussion in the comments - not display the author’s writing prowess.
