My wife has an Explorer now and wants to move to the Flex, I myself have been eyeing the SHO. Flex is the best of both worlds with the Ecoboost, and they are absolutely cavernous inside compared to the Explorer. I’m almost 7' and for once didn’t feel cramped sitting in the back seat behind the driver.

Not when people in the market for an M4 are going to laugh at their power lunch bros who pull up in a Camaro. Nobody is cross shopping the two. It’s the same problem Cadillac runs into trying to compete with BMW and Mercedes. The product might be as good or better, but the image is a dumpster fire.

Right on, that’s my rub with the design as well. Going with no grille isn’t a terrible idea and makes perfect sense on these vehicles, but don’t then give us the silhouette outline for our brains to see the space where a grille would look right at home.
