It's actually quite disappointing.

One of Greg Weisman's weaknesses as a showrunner is his infinite love for the Xanatos Gambit. Named, obviously, after one of his villains.

Well, being fair, the makeup is part of what communicates the characters. Of course, in this case one thing didn't necessarily mean the other.

Oh god, watching it, it's so much worse than I remembered. The entire scene is just so awkward.

Yeah, I get that and I think that's a fair feeling. But I'm really glad the showrunners decided to do their own thing. When the series started, everyone was loathing it being a rethread. And at the end, it wasn't. Instead, it was beautiful.

I don't think this story would've been served by just being followed by Psycho in our minds. It needed to tell its own story and close it on its own. And the showrunners surely earned it and made the most of it.

What a beautiful series and a beautiful finale. I'm really glad this story was created.

I'd say every season was a little bit better than the last one, but both 4 and 5 really are standouts.

I've been meaning to check it, actually, but haven't had the time thanks to the big amounts of actual great television these days. But I'll probably watch it eventually when I need some popcorn TV. I believe I read it really isn't more than that.

I'd totally watch that.
