Heh. On an unrelated matter, I was watching CUTTHROAT KITCHEN last night. When a contestant described her food as "deconstructed," the judge (Antonia LaFaso) visibly and audibly reacted badly. Sure enough, that chef was toast when it came time to eliminate a contestant.

Ha! My signature is …nuthin'. I'm not a good enough cook to compete. I may consider judging, though.

We're about to do a quasi-CHOPPED in my office. Three courses, judges, etc., but no mystery ingredients - just do your signature dish.

I always get a kick out of some hapless chef making what s/he calls a mole sauce, only to get the stinkeye from Aaron and the "this isn't mole" lecture.

That was a Championship Series, as I recall.

I remember that episode. The winner is the owner of Vedge in Philadelphia. ETA: I'm just now realizing you conducted this interview. Thanks so much - I really enjoyed it!

I'm so happy to read this! It answered so many questions I had about CHOPPED, which is my favorite competitive cooking show. And what a great outcome for this contestant!

I get where it's coming from, but yeah - she just looks "wrong" in suburban-mom mode.

Hey, but the Organ Farmer was played by Jeffrey Combs, the original Re-Animator. He can kill her, bring her back…whatever he's feeling like doing.

Seth Bullock was hotter than Rick Grimes, though. He gets a pass for that, right? #smartass

Being gay doesn't preclude fathering children (or mothering them, if you're lesbian). May have an effect on methodology, though.

I'm not…because we've already seen footage of the group crossing into the new compound, and the only kids I saw were Judith and Korl. Nary a resident child playing, that I saw.

Not using the windshield wipers actually really irritated me.

I agree with you, Lani. Holy hell, life itself doesn't always move at the same speed. Some days, you're driving hellbent for leather into a thicket of undead; some days you're just chillin' in a barn that smells like horseshit. Life is occasionally quiet and introspective.

I get what you're saying. I kind of feel as if the show shouldn't be taken seriously at all, but AVC keeps posting these earnest reviews. It's based on a handful of comic book characters (and yes, I know comic books aren't always "comical" or funny). Let it sink or swim on its own merits.

About the milk and its connection to electromagnetic hypersensitivity: http://www.weepinitiative.o… "Most people do better if they minimize their consumption of cow’s milk dairy products and wheat products. If you do use them choose organic ones, or as an alternative try goat or sheep milk products." And he'll be doing it Monday - BCS's regular air time will be Mondays. (Just don't want you to be disappointed on Sunday!)

RLT is so good as Penguin, I am forgiving the Ford-pimping. Hell, I watch the damned things just to see more of RLT. I'm pathetic.

I pretty much enjoy anything Robin Lord Taylor does, even the Ford Ads.

Yup. Hate-watched the last season of Dexter, and omygoodgawd let's not forget hate-watching The Following. Which we can all start doing again in April, except my husband is past even hate-watching. Is there a way to record something on the DVR and hide it from others in the house? I'm ashamed of my hatelove for
