Your image looks good to me. You do have to do post editing like contrast and small color adjustment with RAW images. I have canon dslr and out of the box, they look bit dull.

Another site I recommend along with the DarkSkyFinder is cleardarksky.com I use it to check if the weather will be good at the location before driving an hour or two and getting disappointed. It gives you information like cloud coverage, transparency (related to humidity in air), darkness (affected by the moon), etc

Nice picture. I use T2i to take milky way timelapse and I recommend shooting in RAW. You should be able to push exposure slider bit more in post and have better control over the noise.
