If you still have a medical-diagnosed vitamin deficiency, most of the time a multivitamin is all that you need. Anything else should be given by a doctor.

I believe the theory on "better for you" for local foods is that, since the fruit/veggie was picked when it was more ripe, it has more nutrients.
