Ah, I’m not alone! People seem to really like him, apparently from something I haven’t seen. I mostly remember him from Love, where he’s really obnoxious. He seems to play the same character in everything else I’ve seen too, and it’s pretty grating every time.

That would have required actual effort on the part of the effects team. Instead we get the laziest and most nonsensical business imaginable. Jesus christ, that giant plastic board game prop is lazy. Anyway, I hate this episode so much it makes me angry enough to comment on a 6 year old thread.

The contract plotline made no sense to me...if all these network guys are courting the show, wouldn’t they try to buy the character rights as part of the negotiation? Why does KDTV want to hold on to these rights so bad if theyre not even going to use them?

Ugh...I think you’re right, and I’m not looking forward to that plot. 

Ive hated her in every single episode this season so far.. not sure if this is intentional by the writers or not. The actress is great tho

Glad to hear it gets better, because this season has really been getting me down so far. It’s still good, but it just feels like it’s dumping on Ruth way too much. I want to see her standing up for herself more, because she’s far away the best thing about the show.

I’m not sure that Solo’s budget #s have been made public yet, but its “mere” 350 million so far internationally might actually be a net loss for the studio depending on production budget + marketing.

Yeah, i felt that TLJ did rehash too many beats from Empire (though it wasnt as blatant about it as TFA at least). And the ONE interesting new thread it came up with, Kylo and Rey joining forces, it abandoned immediately.

As a cheap, lazy bastard I got the Force Awakens this weekend from my local library, and watched that instead of going to Solo. It was actually a bit better than I remembered, though a lot of that is promise for an upcoming trilogy that would shortly be dashed by Last Jedi. Interested in revisiting that as well when…

I still haven’t finished S4 (after two attempts). The family’s arc seemed pretty well completed at the end of S3... I’m just not sure the show has a reason to exist anymore tbh. Especially when they keep going to the same well for old jokes.

Yeah, there were definitely dumb plot twists that put me off too. But between the subject matter/time period and the actors, I was able to overlook those things. Definitely not a perfect show, by any means.

I’m pretty down on netflix original content in general, but Glow is the one bright spot (haha pun). It helps that Allison Brie and the rest of the cast are just fantastic. 

For movies? Pirating, I guess...or your local library. I ordered all 4 Mad Max movies last week and they were all ready for pickup within two days.

Yeah, Prime is awesome to catch up on (or rewatch) those HBO shows. I’ll sub occasionally for that, but usually with a few months break in between, because most of the rest of their offerings are wretched.
