This is a really good comment...as great as the freedom of the internet is, I wonder how we could return to a paradigm where authorities (ie people who actually know what the fuck they’re talking about) are respected or at least listened to. Considering the vast amount of complex, specialized knowledge that exists

I kind of miss that joy of discovery and awareness of the great unknown. Plus, My Life and a shit ton of other Joel stuff from that era apes the Beatles pretty hard... I like the idea of confusing them for lost Beatles gems.

Yeah, feel the same. The problem is that BP spent so long with the first act setup, which Killmonger was barely even a part of, that it didn’t have enough time to spend on his rise/fall in the 2nd and 3rd acts.

>>when you would assume that superhero movie fatigue would have set in a long time ago.

It’s just diminishing returns. Quality is completely irrelevant in the case of blockbusters. TFA will never be beaten by this next crop of films because they don’t have that “First Star Wars film since X” kind of hype behind them. Last Jedi has the edge over Rogue One I imagine because its a main trilogy film rather

Maybe if they used more GMOs people wouldn’t have gotten sick, tbh.

Well, he was a shitty dad by all accounts, so maybe being a good parent is what ruins your art?

Probably in my top 2 Dickens novels, so hopefully some justice is done. Really needs a miniseries treatment, like the recent BBC Bleak House, because of its length.

I’ve been doing Xmas/birthday toy shopping on Amazon for awhile now, and while it does feel kind of half-assed, the prices are just so much better than Toys R Us or Target can ever hope to compete with. Some discount retailers like Ross have better deals sometimes though, but you have to deal with their hodge-podge

Holy crap. Just when I thought the humble website was really starting to lose its appeal too...they really outdid themselves with this monthly. Got Pillars of Eternity from their weekly bundle too for about $5.50

Dude, another future guy here to say you were really prescient with your choice of words back there in 2017. Also: this show is fucking great.

Sir Not Appearing in this Episode

Just tell me which film is this year’s Crash so I can hatewatch it with great relish.

Yeah, the 2D games were so rad! I don’t think they had as much of the series’ later irreverence, but there was a lot of good alien-killing action.

I’m a bit outraged...not by this game, which I didn’t play because it looked stupid. But by the Wii in general...what a gimmicky console. One of the few I’ve ever bought while it was “current gen” and man did the motion controls lose their luster, about 15 minutes after you got to first play them with your grandma.

If it’s a sign that the deluge of superhero movies/tv is slowing, I’m for it. Let the era of board game movies commence!

It’s so good... you’d think that BOTH mockumentary and vampire tropes have been too worn out to provide anything new, but the comedy felt really fresh to me. It hit that FOTC-style sweet spot of deadpan wit and emotional warmth.

I usually bounce back and forth between Netflix and Prime every few months, so this is good timing to switch, sounds like.

>Well since I’m not American I generally avoid discussing American politics as I’m not fully informed on their system.

I’m not sure what possessed me to watch the entire first season, but it was mostly entertaining. Manu Bennett helped a lot. Didn’t even realize they were airing a 2nd season, so I can’t speak to that.
