I'd argue that the song is ALL hook (Waa AHH Waa AHH)…which makes it suck even worse. It's like a 3 minute commerical jingle about cross dressing or long hair or whatever the fuck it's about. I can't be bothered to find out.

as much as I hate glee, I think the idea of being defense of your cover version of a song is ridiculous. if you don't want people ripping you off, write your own songs, damn it!*

every good song of the 90s and 00s has basically been a rearrangement of My Posse's on Broadway

what, does every guy with spiky hair have to be Guy Fieri?

when talking about bands like the Spin Doctors, the album/song distinction really begins to lose meaning

as someone who grew up on 107.7… I'm not sure whether to be disgusted by them or love them most of the time. Disgust (back then): constant grunge rotation, nu metal. Disgust (now): crap like RHCP, Paramore, then medicore Black Keys, Metric rotation.

I never bothered to check out the solo album, but I'm assuming every song sounds more or less like Boombox. Am I far off?

I liked Angles a lot when it came out too…and still like it today! There are a few weird missteps, like that Muse-sounding song towards the end…but they were at least taking risks with their sound instead of floating by.

by any objective standard, the two best films ever made are Point Break and The Seventh Seal.

I'd take Martin or the first Hammer Dracula over BS's D. I'm not even sure if thats the Bela Lugosi one or the Keanu one, but neither would make my top 5.

you're saying the FBI's gonna pay him to learn to surf?!

I haven't seen any Oshima either…so this is a perfect Primer to get started!

it's a shame that Scary movie 5s have to exist, to tarnish the reputation of such American classics as Meet the Spartans, Delta Farce, and Movie 43.

amen to that

I'm not a regular reader of this column….because, let's face it, I don't have a lot of time to worry about Counting Crows et al.

excellent choice

nope…can't do it, won't do it.

I have never really been able to get into And then Nothing… I've tried several times, and while I like individual tracks, the whole doesn't grab me. Will probably give it another go-round soon.

I'm pretty excited too…and I've been pretty down on YLT since "I'm not Afraid…" came out. While that album and Popular Songs were ok, they didn't really do anything for me beyond what i could get from the Painful to Summer Sun era (and I actually LIKED Summer Sun, unlike 90% of the fans).

remember how cool and novel johnny depp as a gay/drunk/glammy pirate seemed in 2003? now, this character will be featured in EVERY movie!! hahahaha
