completely agree. Siamese Dream is great, but I think it's preferred by people who don't really like Corgan but can tolerate his music so long as he restrains himself. Mellon Collie is him at his artistic peak. With that said, a good 1/3 of the album is totally unnecessary and borderline unlistenable. Like Sandanista,

i would have been a lot more impressed if Corgan took everyone by surprise and reissued Mellon Collie as a single disc edition. It would actually be a lot better.

definitely Ta Det Lungt. I tried the albums immediately before and after it and didn't appreciate them nearly as much

so you now think the new Kid Rock is ok but not terrible, and the new Kesha is actually pretty good? Ye gods, AV club…you are destroying the fabric of our world!

as much as I like Elephant, it kind of feels out of place on the album because it's so straightforward. some of the hazier dreamy tracks like Feels Like We Only Go Backwards do more for me

as far as christmas rock songs go, i much prefer Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. this song always felt like its stodgy older brother by comparison
