The last twenty years of Shirow Masamune’s career is crying quietly in the corner.

Same. Gut instinct is I do not like the look of this.

ReBoot got an HD texture pack

Gotta keep up with Cardi.

Because she can pretend he was a kid and he didn’t know what he was doing?

I’m confused what his age relevant to his victim’s has anything to do with raping her at knifepoint? Like, does it not count if you are younger than them?

She stupid as hell. This dude going to come up off her and run off with her money. She could've kept Safari for this mess. Smfh. If they have kids he cant take the child to school, go to school functions. Wtf is wrong with this chick?

A dude having a wife doesn’t justify a goddamn thing. I did try reading the book by the way. I’m sure the artistic context of why Alice is getting raped as a child or Wendy is doing her brothers is the real point.

He did ask her outside the bakery something along the lines of “do you think I could lift 200lbs?” which could be a reference to how much the chief weighs...

Alan Moore wrote a graphic novel about the sexual escapades of underage Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy of Oz, and Wendy of Peter Pan. We’ve known Moore was more than just some asshole for a while.

you say resentment but you are equating the 2, as if all parties were equal and in the context of the series and 1921 riots, they definitely weren’t. the wheelchair bound black man (who was the kid who escaped the riots from the beginning), if he killed the sherriff didn’t do it because of resentment or race but for

Regina King and Louis Gossett Jr are the reason I’m giving this a chance. After Lost and Prometheus I’m very wary of getting invested in anything Lindelof does.

interesting interpretation; you don’t seem to be american

I’m sure they are.

“Bad apples.”

I mean, the original comic explicitly tackled big, important, politically relevant issues so this seems exactly on-brand. It just sounds like maybe they’re not doing it nearly as well as the book did.

I think there would be something interesting there if done right but it doesn’t sound like this show does either and honestly in a weird way not only does it squanders its attachment to the original source material but also makes the source material oddly out of place in this narrative at the same time.

Good lord, Charles! Working simultaneously on this story and the ongoing horrors of the murders of Botham Jean and Joshua Brown (including the development you broke at 2pm today) is utterly mind-blowing. It’s times like this I am grateful for journalists like you who power through the pain so we can see how

I’m just thankful HBO put that wayward Confederacy series to rest. Sounds like while Watchmen may be controversial, it’s trying to be a legitimate conversation-starter -- whereas Confederacy just appeared to be white on black violence snuff film.

This was always going to be a tough one because the original comic was infused with Moore’s politics (I assume Gibbons’ shared them, but I don’t know enough about him personally to say so definitively), as well as the particular political issues of the day, namely, a deep skepticism of people in power. It’s a shame,
