I think GRRM actually does a decent job with writing his women characters. They have their own individual stories and motivations they aren’t just there as an after thought or a device to propel the male characters. Read his Tale of Dunk and Egg, its a prequel that contains some of GOT characters and is better than

So you believe the 7% of people who didn’t go vote are more of a concern the people who actually voted for DJT?

If you like the pre-teen wank that is Marco Polo, you will love Game of Thrones.

Now playing

It’s glorious. Another favorite is this one:

I just love her without limit, she makes me so proud. She knows her stuff and does her research on everyone:

My god yes. Like 70+ yr old man versus in home pull up bar. gravity 1, old man -0.

Pretty much. Critical Care is my specialty so I’ve seen the outcomes of stuff like this first hand so I felt bad for the family cause as the article was from the son’s point of view.

In essence she’s saying I was wrong, but it’s not entirely my fault... That is the kind of half ass equivocation I expect from children. It’s like yeah I recognize I did something wrong but I am not going down alone as if that is the most important thing about an apology. If you are saying she shouldn’t apologize

I would agree except for her subsequent word “but” which as a turn of phrase is trying to downplay what came before it by putting the blame on MTV. What’s the point of admitting being wrong to then turn around and say but it’s not really my fault? The entire quote still reads as her trying to shift blame.

Deep Frustration is the user name of the poster I was referring to not what I am feeling by the way.

There was a case were an older gentleman sat on a tire swing and the branch broke off and hit him in the head resulting in a head injury that progressed to brain death. This happened in front of his family on a property they rented on Airbnb. Airbnd said that’s between y’all to the property owners and the family. So

I know it is hard to follow threads, but that was not in response to the OP or even about the OP, it was in response to Deep Frustration specifically addressing the point that people who complain about not understanding what a slang word means are annoying.

We do agree, and I understand that in the age of the interwebs culture-vultures will be plucking at all the tasty liver they can get to, but its gets old hat when it’s always words from black culture that people seem to always have a rant about.

How is that an unfair statement? People who complain about not understanding slang terms obviously have a problem with the concept of context or puns. When I use the term concrete I mean literal.

I do love it, the one I remember off hand is “pain and strife” for wife.

Edited cause waste of my time,

But that is the nature of language it is flexible. I like trying out new words, some people over do it but that is in their nature. It’s like a kid that wont take of their Batman costume after Halloween, that person is a weirdo leave the poor words out of it.

Paris is Burning is one of the best documentaries ever. I knew about Benny Ninja because of a few articles I read as a youth when Madonna’s song came out, but to see actual footage is something else entirely.

The issue there is a time and place for everything and the more you know the better equipped you are to learn that time and place. POC are masters at “code-switching” so we understand this but most non-POC don’t because they don’t have to because hegemony. Anyway moral of story: Do you, with discernment.
