Yep I know both physicians and nurses who dont bother to work full time for anyone. They just continually take locums/travel work where they get paid at a higher rate with the added bonus of getting to leave at the end (or sometimes early) and never return if its a not so great experience.

Have you considered travel nursing. That is what my good friend does and they usually either pay for your room/board or give you a stipend to cover the cost. You could temporarliy put your belongings at your parents or in storage.
