Um, what? The decision to stop development on the PS5 version was done before Sony objected to the Activision deal. So without any objection, they taught Sony that they would cancel their versions of games. Sony is now trying to keep them from doing that further.

What Kenneth hasn’t mentioned here is that the OT timer only starts if the enemy team has touched the bot within 3 seconds of the round ending. If they haven’t, there is no OT, and the round ends, just like every other OW game.

Series X does have a limitation keeping some games from running on it: The Series S.
If you don’t want to try getting a game to run on the Series S (which is a lot weaker and has 37.5% less RAM) then you can’t make a Series X game, because MS requires they work on both.

The ladder stuff came out of necessity in the game. They needed something quite long where very little happens to download the next part of the map in the background without showing a “loading…” screen. Same thing as the lifts in Mass Effect 1.
