I warmed to her after a while, but her on-again-off-again accent was a bit grating. Her entire voice, really. But I found that oddly realistic in a way.

I fucking love this show, and thank god Lestat is back, even for a little bit.
I’m not unhappy with spending filthy lucre on it! I agree, glad they're still making them.
I was hoping it was going to lean into more “there’s other people in timeloops” stuff and make it even more ensemble. There’s a lot to explore there.
Imagine a support group that starts and it’s just people caught in their own loops - and they have to meet at an inconvenient time to make sure everyone can attend.
She was good as the “unattainable angel” or whatever figure in Sin City.
God bless Nike money.
I just want more Russian Doll, although the direction they took season 2 was kinda too timey-wimey even for me. But I still wanted more, still liked it!
We gave up after the first episode. There was just...nothing there. It felt almost like unintentional anti-humor.
There’s a lot of needles they’re threading here, and I think honestly it’s a strength of the medium and what they’re swinging for that you can project a layer of depth on it that doesn’t MAYBE ACTUALLY exist here.
1. Are the emotions allowed to feel other emotions - they obviously do, especially in this one. Especially…
Just saw it today, and I think B- is very unfair. The nuanced portrayal of Anxiety and its impact on ourselves as we grow was supremely well done. The third act is tenser than the third act of the first. It was GORGEOUS.
They use the word friend so often and it's clearly about her fitting in, not being smitten.
Her plan was basic because basic plans work. She looked BORED doing it. She knows how easy this is.
Thank god tbh
I default to nepo-baby assumption now when I look up people I’m unfamiliar with. Or...just anyone in general under the age of 35 or so now.
I’m not ALWAYS right, but I swear my hit rate is >50%. I don’t know what the true stats are but if I was a young person wanting to get into acting, music, etc, and not nepo, I’d be…
I thought of all of Pixar’s “message movies” (recognizing most are message movies of some kind), Inside Out was the best. It was a perfect encapsulation of so many things, but it’s overall moral of allowing sadness, grief, etc. to have their place was, to me, IMPORTANT. Western cultures especially have a very, very…
Meanwhile, the film Superman: Bi-Guy has done surprisingly well at select theaters.
Arcane is a high-water mark for modern animation. And honestly - I do think we’re on the precipice, if not already there, of not only an animation renaissance but of animation becoming (god willing) the go-to medium for fantastical stories (sci fi, fantasy, etc.)
I’m all for stuff like the D&D movie but, like...I don’t…
“We’re too busy making sequels not many of you asked for.”
I know some of their more original swings haven’t worked out recently but they are firmly committed to more sequels now and I hate it.
(insert Zorak shaking his fist animation here) I’LL EAT HIM RAW!
They’re like Suicide Girls but with a more outward-focused agenda. And lots of pirate gear.
