a prime example is what serena williams went through when she gave birth to her daughter. even though she had a history of blood clots, the nurses and doctors ignored her when she asked for a ct scan. they finally gave in and lo and behold she was forming blood clots in her legs.

It required a study, for sure. The more data there is, the better. It’s entirely too easy for people to ignore institutionalized racism, so if you just said that was the issue, you’d get people jumping in talking about how it’s because soul food has more cholesterol or someshit. Data, REAL data, matters.

I agree that it’s blindingly obvious and frustrating, but sometimes these studies are what finally hits the radar for politicians. I’m not naive and expect no great immediate change, but this study gives us something definitive to send to our reps.
