I had the same reaction. The first few nights can be especially difficult, and while I really fucking love some movies/TV series and had to see them ASAP, I usually wouldn’t even miss work for them. I know I’d drop everything to help a sister or friend through that time. So a spouse with my own child — I can’t even.
