Right on.
Right on.
That’s dismissive and mean. We can’t all wear our armor all of the time, and we don’t expect body shaming when we come to a semi-feminist supposedly pro-woman website.
But is it about maxi dresses? Because like hundreds of people came away feeling body shamed and clothing shamed (including me even though I don’t give a shit what this person thinks). I happen to have excellent reading comprehension skills and a graduate degree in writing/editing. I saw no satire or value here.
PREACH ON. I was shopping for them recently, and I love the variety available now. I hope that like capri pants they become part of our normal fashion cannon.
WARNING: They’re like potato chips. I got my first one last year, and now I have like 20. Because they are comfy AND sleek AND appropriate for so many things.
You just made a very exhausted and physically aching person LOL. Thank you! And I could not agree more.
Exactly right! I did three airports and two flights in one yesterday, and it was the greatest flying outfit ever. Plus the guys on my team gave me a lot of sweet compliments about my outfit.
Yeah, I feel like my coworker wrote this. We are often manning a hospitality desk together, which means we sit for hours and watch people go by at hotels/resorts/restaurants/casinos/airports/etc. I have to hear her 1,000 comments about how women shouldn’t wear mesh coverups or certain types of swimsuits or dress like…
I love maxis, and I think women look lovely in them. I like how as they’ve become more popular, the range of them has expanded, and some have gone in the direction of Liz’s dress — flowy, gorgeous prints, more interesting than the yoga pants standard (which I’m not criticizing; I just like variety). So long live the…
Has anyone else watched Bloodline on Netflix? LP has pretty much the same seahorse necklace in their Target line. Not exactly whimsy selling the dark prop from a dark show.
I’ve only ever seen one LP dress that I would want, probably because the young lady wearing it looked so lovely and appropriate and comfortable that day in a sea of spring breaker hypertacky. It’s also not the typical LP screaming color ‘whimsy.’ But when I saw that it retails for $227, I was like WTF lady. I’d pay…
I feel you. I really do. It sucks. I hope your outbreak retreats fast!
Oh you know that horrible doctor either has herpes herself or some other STD she feels shame about. Thank goodness Katie had you with her! (I totally went in with my brother when he was diagnosed, btw. No one minded.)
You’re probably in the more fortunate category and should not worry. For the vast majority, the disease retreats into the nerves and stays there most of the time.
Hey, give yourself some time. Hang in there. It’s a big thing to deal with. It does change things, and it took me a lot of time to digest. If a break helps you, take one for as long as you want.
In herpes support groups, you do hear these stories of people being married for 20+ years and the other partner remaining herpes free with no protection or meds. Some people just don’t shed the virus much, and/or the other partner is resistant to it. But you never know which way it’s going to go.
Speaking as one of those pariahs, thank you for writing this. I’m glad he found you!
YEP. Right there with you!
"Sometimes the things Jesus tells them to do are a little chancy." That is the best line I have read in days, and I am stealing it.
Word cannot express how much I love this. Signed, someone who had to spend way too much time in churches as a kid.
