Yep, that and one more thing later in the season really cemented him as “stealth MVP” for this season, given how knife’s edge the character he was playing was, given all of the baggage he was carrying as Burke from the 80s in this role...

Dan,
It’s not a comedy, but Gelman’s “Pull-out” line got the best, unexpected laugh of the entire season from me.
“Hey, dickheads... how come the only one helping me out is this random girl?”
I love that he would have been saved by his hat had he been wearing it like an adult.
That upside turn of the camera was a great piece of work for sure.
You’ve seen where they live. I don’t think that area would have cable, especially in the boonies where the Beyers live. Unless Siouxsie dressed like that on an album cover, he might not have known what she looks like.
I thought he looked like Rob Lowe!
The music stuff is interesting as far as his coding goes. (I mean, giving him a Ted Nugent tune early on was brilliant in that regard.) But part of me wonders how it would’ve gone if he’d been listening to stuff from the Orange County hardcore scene of the time.
His like a geneticly enchanced 80s bully.
I’ve checked it out 3 times now and it really does a better job than you might think (from a solitary viewing) at putting the themes of the original through a prism and showing what may come out the other side. I’ll be going again this week.
Going to see it a third time this week. Though it pisses me off that Geostorm replaced BR 2049 on the IMAX screen! Fuck you America.
I thought it was a more than worthy sequel to a film that didn’t need one. If you’ve only seen it once, you haven’t seen it enough.
“After the season’s over, I’m going down to an Ecuadorian village to save them from The Predator.”
“I think we can all agree that equity in education can help effect change that we all want to see in this country.”
"bland John Hughes sentimentality"
bitch please. The Pretty in Pink soundtrack rules, Pacific Age-era OMD rules
I can never forgive him for teaching chipmunks to sing.
