(i am/was a photographer as well)- i initially thought it was dodging but it really looks like there is a light source under her- and it totally could be the ocean or just the airstrip or the photographers shirt - whatever- but there is lighting hitting the underside of her brows/nose chin...

FWIW- pretty sure in the new photo at the top, the photographer is reflecting sunlight directly in her face to get the glowy highlighty light thats on her face. (sim to being a little kid in school and bouncing the sunlight of your watchface into the teachers forhead)
