    It’s a strawman because you set up a situation which was favorable to the argument you wanted to make, when in reality most people would be caught completely by surprise by an attacker - because that’s how criminals tend to work, and then it doesn’t matter if you have a smart gun or not.

    Hypothetical scenario strawman situation. If you’re ever confronted by an armed criminal you will probably get shot regardless of how dumb your gun is, simply because the criminal will be prepared for a confrontation (IE: aiming a weapon at you), and you will not.

    Being afraid of being killed by a criminal who doesn’t have to ask permission to shoot is an amazingly effective way to shoot yourself! And the statistics even back it up.
