Yeah. All debates about changing the economic models for anything - in any way - ultimately devolve into this. Pay restaurant workers a living wage and eliminate tips? End of restaurants and therefore society. Change regulations on dumping toxic chemicals in public swimming pools? Tell little Jimmy why you hate giving

You hate to see it...

This person seems to assume that the Red Sox are a public company or something.

Until I decided to tell Google News to not direct me to crappy comic and movie fandom “news” sites, I was getting suggestions for articles that said the sticking point was Captain Marvel, because sure... Supposedly Sony was upset that Marvel’s “angry feminist” character would be demeaning to Sony’s “wholesome boy”

Oh and for anyone who wishes to know how Crowdstrike and Ukraine became linked in the soggy wastes that make up his brain, I think I figured it out:

And it would never end, because all the olds have their email set up to do individual emails instead of grouped conversation threads and they all go through them in chronological order from earliest to oldest.

When were you in Ohio, because if it was in the last few years, you should also be gnashing your teeth that you can’t get Rhinegeist from Cincy. So good.

There is a guy at work who does this about work issues. He’ll ask you a direct, reasonable, and relevant question and you’ll be in the middle of answering and he’ll 1) cut you off in a failing attempt to show you he was listening, 2) switch the topic to another work issue, 3) switch the topic to something entirely

Having worked in healthcare IT, can confirm that this is true about doctors. They always told me they knew the system better than me, but would make easy and obvious mistakes that even a child would know to avoid.

Lesson that everyone needs to learn: just because someone agrees with you and your platform on one thing doesn’t mean they agree with you and your platform on all things. Not everyone follows a tribalistic mentality.

Yeah, now that you mention this, I think I may have gotten my wires crossed, although I do know people who insist on having beans in their chili.

I think my favorite thing about the chili purists who reflexively hate Cincinnati chili is how inconsistent their arguments are/how close-minded they are:

Antetokounmpo*

I feel like almost all perceived sensations are just highly variant. Sure there are the extremes where we’d all agree (-50 degrees F is insanely cold, having a laser shined in your eyes is way too bright, having a cardboard cut in your finger crotch is the worst thing imaginable, etc) but beyond those limits, all bets

To that stupid tweet: just because someone else works a “harder” job for less pay doesn’t mean someone working an "easier" for good pay can’t be tired or fed up with it. No one has to sign up for a lifetime of a job they don’t enjoy or are afraid will destroy them.

Sheetz is legit. If I am in northern Ohio and in need of a snack when I’m out, I will go out of my way for some Sheetz.

What about having a guitar for any alternate tunings you might use? I have two electric guitars, a bass, and an acoustic guitar. One of the electrics is a double humbucker tele in standard while the other is my beat up warlock from high school that I got set up down in C standard. Gotta sludge it up from time to

Queens of the Stone Age, Massive Attack, Slayer

There is just so much bad logic and misunderstanding of probability in this scenario that it makes my head spin.

Yeah, it’s a weird logical fallacy that lots of people seems to have.
