I know that people are saying that this is opportunistic and I get why they feel that way. However, I believe these allegations have some meat to them.

This is the line that got me:

A little off topic but what confused me so much about the public reaction to the Polanski case is the way people acted like he had some sort of had “consensual” encounter with her that was only illegal due to her age.

Lots of people jumping in here to find excuses and complicating factors to try to diminish the seriousness of an adult targeting vulnerable kids for his own sexual gratification.

Even if it’s a norm, it’s still predatory. I understand the gay culture around younger men with older men, I do. But anyone who is under 18 is a child. A lot of people justified Roman Polanski’s rape of a 13 year old because in the 70s young teenaged girls were seen as being in control of their sexuality/available.

That’s what made me consider the authenticity of the accusations too. A person can commit terrible personal acts and also be a progressive and educated leader. They’re not mutually exlusive.

The fact that there are multiple accusers makes me feel unlikely that the allegations are false, sadly.

The fact that these two other men were willing to put their names out there indicates to me that these accusations are founded. I always choose to believe these claims at face value, and additional victims is more than enough to convince me.

Exactly, there is no “other side to the story” that could possibly justify the part that we did see. And we know that Airbnb agreed, since they banned Tami and gave this person a refund.

What is going on in the mind of this former Airbnb host? Like, seriously. Did she book an Asian person solely for the purposes of cancelling on her minutes before her arrival? Was she sadistically looking to inconvenience someone of colour? Did she only realize Suh was Asian minutes before her arrival? Did she try to…
