Funny I just had a similar thought on my lunch break today. I’m also a terrible bitch and resent mums and dads with strollers and little children. They just create discomfort. I’m a hater.

Jesus, this argument is so fucking old and tired.
Wau, lots of commentors here turn into hungry hyenas watching a young sucessful woman being torn down from her pedestal by another (utterly talentless) woman. This, on a feminist blog. Well, enjoy, but again, one day it might be you falling from the grace and equally, everyone will love it.
I for one think she was good in that film, if only people would focus more on the character, rather than the prostatic nose. And also, Virginia Woolf was a great writer. If she was a man, no one would ever criticize her for being a ‘terrible human being’. It’s not like Jack Kerouac or Ernest Hemingway were angles, but…
exactly. In a world that hates you, act of self-love is an act of rebellion.
I think guys just get such an easy pass. Tom Cruise is a total botox face. Everyone is ok with that. RZ gets eye lids altered, omg, the rage.
choices are not made in cultural vacuum. While anyone is free to do with their bodies as they please, it is naive to think that every such act is empowering and also, it does have wider societal consequences, in that in normalises unnecessary and risky medical procedures.
omfg. Poor girl :(((
I hope you are right. Imagine a world, where women and men can actually just be themselves and be accepted for it. I have a dream...
that’s all nice and well. However, I’d like to look at it from a different perspective. The sheer amount of women who due to our fucked up culture feel they need to alter their looks via totally unnecessary invasive procedures, kind of perpetuates a vicious cycle, of this being normalised and resulting in more and…
Also, it bothers me how people refuse to let it go. How many months this have been news now? Woman had a small procedure to alter her eye lids, probably for medical reasons. I think it’s outrageous that some idiot actually write essays about it, as if RZ was some phenomenon to be observed and analysed, rather than an…
I think really it’s just the eyelids, which kind of changed her appearance. And that might have been done for medical reasons too... I think it’s a fairly small procedure but changes the face quite a bit.
none of these are ok.
I’m a bit on the opposite side when it comes to an opinion as to how to approach this sort of feeling.
finally a sensible advice!
lol same here. I read this and thought, shit I’m literally about to do all those things on the ‘not-to-do’ list and all at the same time. Well, at least I’m in for a hell of a ride I guess...
I’m 27, about to separate from my partner after 7 years and about to leave my job for MA course in a different city.
yes, as for us, remaining 27 members, it would be a good boost of morale. I think EU will be more than happy to welcome them back and really for Scotland it’s a no-brainer. Independence + EU. Whereas now they have dependence + no EU.
I think they didn’t want to express their discontent with EU, but rather with status quo and the ‘establishment’ whatever that means.
As a fellow European, I honestly hope that EU will offer a good deal to Scotland, so that they become independent and re-join EU. They can take England’s yellow star! I’m on my third glass of red wine and I’m heart-broken. Stupid people made a fateful decision which will have consequences for the generations to come.…
