That’s definitely true - but that’s contextual, not always factually valid.

AKA Cindy Lou Who.

That’s only true if you have a baseline of what normal is, and we don’t really have that outside of a moral construct. So if you follow that logic, anything someone does that is awful TO YOU could be considered by you to be a mental health issue. That’s not how things work.

If the answer to everything was “look it up”, there’d be no comments on GM posts at all, now would there?

It was a requirement at the time for the post-grad program I was in - otherwise there is no way in holy hell I would have done it. Invaluable experience, but it was nightmarish - not a bright light to be found in any day there.

Googling it wouldn’t have explained to me the demographic. But hey, thanks, because I never would have considered LOOKING THAT SHIT UP.

No - every state has one of these hospitals.

Defying what you consider human logic doesn’t automatically mean mental illness. That is so much of the problem - people want to use themselves as the benchmark for mental health.

People like to pick and choose who they will defend with the mental illness veil. Not many people would consider Dahmer, Bundy, or the Cleveland kidnapper worthy of their defense when it comes to the mental illness claim...but they are very quick to do so when it’s on a small scale.

Who are the women buying into this? I’m not familiar with Tv One - is that like OWN?

Not being “all there” and having anger management issues still don’t qualify as mentally ill.

Well, who knows? Could be, could not be. I just really bristle at every single news item mentioning some heinous crime, when the commenters all leap the the sympathetic defense of some phantom “mental illness”. It’s valid at times, yes. But sometimes people just suck.

I did my internship at a state-run forensic hospital (felons who were considered insane but were guilty of their crimes). Please understand that there are people who are just awful - not mentally imbalanced, not burdened with a mental disease - just 100% shitty.

I’ll just bet this isn’t the most horrible news of the day.

I lost 40 pounds 6 years ago with WW, kept it off and went 10lbs beyond in the last year. I don’t experience this with rational dieting...it seems to only be those who are experiencing the socially-acceptable fad that want to beat you over the head with their revelation.

No, not if you’d like to stay in business - it’s not your job to call clients out on social media. Imagine if every cashier/waiter/service provider decided to make it a practice to call out every difficult customer they had....would you be more or less likely to use that provider knowing that they might do the same

Rick Springfield!!!

Um...yeah? So what is GM’s stance/opinion/editorial? Otherwise you’re just posting a link to a page (sponsored?)

What in the actual hell is the point of this post?

11 o’clock. Do you not get how to work that out?
