There was a towing company in my area who was scamming apartment dwellers who had to have tags on their rear view mirrors years back (or maybe it was placed on the dash. Can’t remember exact details). They found out that if they just jerked the shit outa the car while towing, the tags will fall off and onto the floor.

i was bummed when i saw this too. it really is the ideal truck... not massive, still capable of pulling 7k lbs (personally i need something that can pull 5k comfortably... i dont do it often, but i do tow from time to time, so its a necessity).. plugin. because when i tow, it’s well beyond any range electric trucks

my wife drives an EV, and I drive a flock of shitty volvos. she often says to me “if i werent married to you and your countless junk cars, I would probably have gotten the plugin hybrid.”

or rented... in any case fucked

Volvo P1800 is the realistic answer, but my heart would much prefer a PV444 and PV544 with 444hp and 544hp respectively

sometimes we push back even against our own best interests too. funny how it works.

fingers crossed for a new small electric pickemup?

The CARB rules require batteries to have 10year/150k mile warranty, for one.

The bolt really does seem like the perfect prius replacement of today.... low cost/efficient vehicle... still kinda early adopter phase because it’s BEV and the looks are subpar. but everyone that has one gets the last laugh all the way to the bank. these last few weeks, I have seriously, seriously, considered selling

He’s talking about Bolts not Volts. these Bolts should have zero issue with another 100k

I think a majority of us would be able to live with all the other little shortfalls if the MPG was even remotely reasonable. it’s just crazy to me that we still see so many new vehicles with mileage in the teens. especially with how expensive gasoline is getting (my area is around $5/gal)....

I have 4 volvo catalytic converters I have no idea what to do with. One off my race car, and 3 off donor cars I bought for the race car.

looks nice. if i had to drive one of these, i wouldnt mind it at all..... but that’s about the extent of it...

GMT400.

Nah. I’d bet the auto industry would become complacent, and just build cheap gas cars, and not ramp up on cheap EV… they’d then have their lobbyists pressure regulators to push the full EV roll out date, saying “we don’t have manufacturing capabilities to just switch.” And we’d be back to square one.

we have a 2020 ioniq ev, and I rotated my tires a couple days before taking it into the dealership for the coolant recall... got a call that the car was ready, and the service writer was like “and we did a free tire rotation for you too!...” this was a month ago, havent driven it much, but i need to re-rotate the damn

Nope. Because not everybody will need to charge while shopping… but I wouldn’t be surprised if stores eventually all had 10~20.

south bay area checking in... the amount of money people blow on cars here (and houses for that matter) is next to insane.... but then again, theres a boatload of engineers around here pulling north of $250k/yr... so there’s that....

once chargers at places like the grocery store and the workplace become super common this “20 minutes” thought process wont really be an issue.

who the fuck clicked no-dice?
