yes. but keeping fields going is still strategic. it’s like keeping farmers on retainer. they’re doing other work for now, but when you need them, farmers and their equipment are ready to go....

corn/farmer subsidies are more than just gas industry. It’s partly for national food security. you have to keep farms alive, so in case of an upcoming shortage, the corn crops and equipment can be turned over to grow other crops as well... im with you that gas subsidies need to disappear tho...

California here... I’ll have to double check my reg, but if my recollection is correct, there is a cost line item for weight or gross weight (cant recall), and there is a cost line item for value, which is based on what the msrp was and then each year a depreciation from that.

last time I was in Wyoming, I saw a fuckton of trucks, trucks, trucks, and get this... more trucks..... they’re practically all heavier than my EV, and a decent chunk of them weigh at least twice what my EV weighs too..

1o minutes by time is still out of my way.

most cars these days have a screen in the dash instead of an actual instrument cluster. I’d say just put the back up screen there.

sure. but also worth keeping in mind the conversation is about the ‘future’

I don’t think it’s outside the realm of reason for a LOT of folks....

dont forget having to go outa your way EVERY SINGLE WEEK to get gas... sometimes at the most inconvenient times too.

JFC... everybody up in arms about 180 being fine...

yeah.. idk if its just me tho or if times have changed.... I’ve had people break into my truck 3 or 4 times (92 chevy, i have a portable unit in there too). they have yet to steal it tho... most of them are kinda useless without the mount to hold them up and if the mount is bonded to the dash, there really isnt much

if you get a car with an aux in port, you can get one of those portable carplay units for like $80 and just plop it on the dash. I ran one in my 98 for a while, it was perfectly adequate. bluetooth to the unit and audio out the aux to the car.

I bought one for $1000 last June.

doesn’t even deserve the ride down the digestive tracks.

A few weeks ago, I finally got thru to our conservative neighbors we have on my street... I asked them “what makes the US the most powerful nation in the world.” they immediately responded with “military.” I nodded, and asked them “military is powerful, but whats the most powerful? remember the phrase follow the

it is seriously no joke how much fumes cars put up.

there are dozens of us out there... I stopped when I went electric, also some asshole stole the log out of my truck....

emissions are also being reduced in the mining side too. there’s right now a huge push to go electric for large mining equipment as well (mainly for underground mining) because one of the biggest expenses for a mine is getting fresh air supply down to the depths of the mine in order to keep engines running.

Nicholas Stohrer (French Cake Maker) of Stohrer Paris Patisserie leveraged Marie Antoinette’s power and attempted to monopolize the food supply of paris, and only supply cake to the middle and lower class families, which led to the French revolution.

I think this is what makes me appreciate the car the most... it’s not my preferred style, but they show us the concept which is then brought to life.
