not a kid, but sure, and the world is also very different today. just because we used to transport goods via overland wagon pulled by horses doesnt mean that you can transport the same goods we do today via overland wagon. we live in a different world with different requirements now. there will absolutely be a change,

starting in 2026, california is going to start requiring 10 year 150k mile warranties as well, which is super exciting.

a 60kwh chevy bolt pack weighs roughly 950 lbs... so maybe 1900 lbs for a 120kwh battery pack - just a quick guess.... but sub tract 700~900lbs of drivetrain maybe.... also the skateboard becomes structure, if i had to take a quick quick guess, an electrified sprinter will add maybe 10~15% give or take for the bigger

sure, everything is opinion based... but you can at least take it from the source and base your opinion on that, as opposed to basing an opinion on an opinion of an opinion.

I dont have a twitter either, but you may be underestimating how much news and information shows up on twitter first, and then proxy to you through another source

yeah, I think hes just been so used to pulling results outa his butthole with tesla that hes forgotten what its like to fail... that being said, if in the end he just takes twitter down to zero, its not a complete loss for him, because it removes a large component of communication. and that’s a HUGE hit to the general

twitter is the largest platform for unfiltered/direct communication from government officials to the people, and the largest platform for unfiltered P2P news.... if he takes this down, we will have to rely on legacy media platforms, which inevitably has tons of bias... i personally believe that his goal is to control

I noticed this too. I havent put gas in my cars in a few months, so I think im gonna top off my cars between now and the potential railroad strike.

2000 Volvo S70 with 275k miles…. Reliability.

I almost voted Tesla as well. Mainly for kicking off the electric car market and the momentum it has today. It showed the public the viability of EV’s. I will likely never own one, especially as long as the company is the way it is, but they kicked all the legacy auto makers into high gear when it came to getting EV’s

The 1959 Volvo PV544.

I wish my 1937 Buick Special came with a manual.... it’s got the 3 on the floor, but the problem is that if I ever need to fix something, the documentation for such an old car is just really hard to come by.... I wish it came with a proper repair manual.

Yeah. No worries. You’re not wrong tho.

22 year old driver. there is speculation he may have fallen asleep at the wheel too. but motives are still unclear.

i can maybe sorta get it... it just comes down to pricepoint tho. the bolt starts low, and the niro used to have the tax credit, so people would cross shop them.... I can also see alot of people looking at the 500 because it’s probably gonna be a low pricepoint, but then like “for a little bit more, i can get a car

yeah. honestly i try to ride my bicycle as much as possible. cars are more of a hobby for me, so i dont really burn too much fuel. maybe a tank every 4 months or so around town.... i do burn a fair amount of fuel at the track tho... but thats only like 3~4 times a year.

after rebates ours was $700 down and $150/month for a new car on closeout. our buyout is a fantastic deal too.... with full EV, our range per kwh is roughly 20% better than the PHEV version of the same car too 4.7 vs 3.8 miles/kwh so we’re better off even when on full electric. electricity is about 1/3 the cost of gas

def little harder but the guy I was responding to had a house.

hahah you and me both.... I inherited my fathers 1937 buick special (the car i learned to drive on) and it has a siezed straight 8, and a holy-ass raidator. which gives me the perfect opportunity to EV swap... the straight 8 engine, and transmission weigh north of 800lbs so batteries likely wont make the car any

Honestly, you dont have to upgrade your home electrical... as long as you dont get a massive EV... our 2020 Ioniq gets 4.7 miles/kwh, and we dont charge on the 240v at home.... we just use the 120v L1 charger that came with the car in to a regular 120v outlet... we talked about installing a 240 in the garage, but in
