I thought it was my wife…

we can mount it on my roll bar!

Ive had a 2000 S40. that thing was such a steamy turd.

agree with this... i appreciated how they stuck to their boxy look thru the bubble era... while others were so busy focused on what bubbly cars they could produce, they never stopped to think if they should produce them...

how many boats can i tow at once?

Yeah. I think the bottleneck would be the size of the opening between the trunk and back seats. I’ve seen a couple cars in my bike shop days where the opening was too small to allow a bike to pass thru.

we also run in to the issue where we only use one key between my wife and I, and the other key is in a safe.

maybe I’m reading something wrong, but they built these for kennedy space center, which is in Florida. they need to be enclosed for air conditioning and humidity, especially when theyre walking around in those big ass suits...

I get the whole sarcasm because of the income tax thing... but to be fair, i think they have a point. which is that if they reached out to Ford/GM/Stellantis/Tesla/Rivian/etc saying “hey would you guys be interested in some press opportunity?” (going thru marketing) as opposed to “I want you to place a bid.” (going

B-pillars? have you seen Stellantis A-pillars? you can hide a freight train behind those things.

my 98 volvo has buttons labeled 1, 2, 3, as presets on the driver’s seat right next to all the controls. you just hop in, hit a button, and the seat does it’s thing....

At idle, the a car burns roughly 0.5 gallons/hr.

oh yeah, that’s a good point about cargo space... I will say though, i’ve never in my life filled the trunk of a sedan to the brim with cargo.... though on a somewhat contradicting tangent id be curious how it will do cramming a bike in the back with the seats down.

the difference between the two is enormous... the easiest thing you’ll notice is that GM products fall apart bad after about 10~15 years, Volvo doesn’t. also the actual materials they use are super nice. better to the touch, last wayyyyy longer. I own a silverado half ton, and there ain’t a single piece of plastic in

you know what it is.... it’s like negotiating. when you negotiate, you ask for an extreme in order to try and land in the middle... even if your stance is extremely to one side, a 3rd group will come in and create the middle ground for you... not saying this is the perfect solution, but it seems to get things done...

covid was a huge leap in the right direction, pushing for more outdoor dining.

beautifully said. 100% with you here. I love cars because it’s something to tinker on and making something go is fun... but by god, you’ll catch me dead before you catch me sitting in traffic. cycling to work is fantastic exercise too.

not needing the car makes the experience so much more enjoyable too. just because you dont have that added stress of what youll do when it eventually fails... I do all my commuting by bicycle, but things like trips to the store or track days are a whole lot more fun when you have a car.

mirrors fail from time to time though. like the one in my truck, i went to adjust it, and the reflective mirror portion fell off. bad adhesive.

not sure what youre talking about. I’ve owned about 6 volvos now with over 100k. one was at 275k, and the seats were still in fantastic shape.
