haha, yeah, the wrangler efficiency was more of a tangent, I was just absolutely blown away when i looked it up.

if they go $10k down and lease 3 years + a 6~7 year loan, the payments are probably more manageable... still far from ideal
if somebody were to tell me 10 years ago that I would one day own an EV, and it would be a hyundai.... I would go out of my way to make sure they were put into a mental institution.
my only concern with PHEV is that you’re going to be cycling the battery a whole lot more times than a BEV.... for example with the wrangler if you were to do 20 miles/day 5 days a week... you’re basically going thru almost 5 full charge cycles on that battery. whereas if you had a BEV with 200 miles range, that week…
I use the hyundai lane assist in my wifes car too. i still keep a hand on the wheel, but it allows me to constantly scan everything else on the road... i like that it keeps the car in the lane, so when i rotate, i dont accidentally yank the wheel and pull the car outa the lane.
no. they launched 2 models that need to go in to production (which is very costly), and they have another in the pipeline for early next year as well.
There’s risk, but I think in this instance, Volvo/Geely have skin in the game to keep this operation going. Furthermore they sell high-end/luxury which brings in more $$$/lithium. - ex. 78kwh battery in a polestar 5 will bring in $100,000 vs something like an XC40 around $52,000, or a Model Y at $65,000 (these are all…
To go zero to public with IPO usually takes 12~18 months vs th SPAC route can be 3~6 months.
Yeah, hers was a 2016 v6 awd, and that transmission always had me on the edge of my seat… we’d be driving up an incline, and outa nowhere, CLUNK< CLUNK<CLUNK<CLUNK! And then we’d be fine for the next 10 miles…. When we get to a perfectly smooth/flat section of road just cruising. It would even do it in cruise control……
yeah, the caveat was that wed have to find one that’s not marked up, which in this market is near impossible. that being said, our current car is overvalued too. they basically sold it to us for $24k after the rebates, we drove it for a year and a half, and we can get $30k back.
if Jeep didnt suck so bad it would have been a half decent SUV. my wife used to have one. the shape/appearance/size was actually decent, and it drove alright, but the interior was cheap, the transmission was trash, electrical wiring could have been better executed by a 4th grader, and the ergonomics (what ergonomics?).
yeah... ive been scouring for one without markup. that’s the only thing holding me back rn.
we’re actually considering one of these things, because of where the market is right now, we can sell our current 2020 Ioniq EV for right around $30,000 which is roughly $6000 more than what we paid for it.
with the battery pack being low, you dont really feel the height of the car as much either.
yoooo. I just inherited the mineral/oil rights for a few acres between CSU Longbeach and the ocean, Ima need them to keep drilling!
That comes with the M66 gearbox, as it’s a 6-speed. Not the 56.
length is the same as a civic which is lighter, but 2" shorter vertically. weight wise, the civic is still 200lbs lighter in its lightest trim.
I always enjoyed calling my friend’s Ram a “Fiat-Chrysler.” just to remind him it’s not really as american as he tries to make it out to be
yeah that was a bummer. the Insight was cool though... there’s a team that races an insight at 24hrs of Lemons, and they have theirs stripped down to like 1300lbs, even on that original 1L plant without electric it was quick... the CRZ wasnt powerful enough to be a hot hatch, and it wasnt efficient enough to be…
