home is where you park it/

i think it’s something to do with the lift and the stock driveshaft length... or maybe they did something like a shackle flip, where the rear of the leaf spring comes down, but the distance from the axle to the front mount is the same, and that’s just further down on the wheel travel path.

yes and no.... based off the average price of electricity these days, it’s roughly $20 to fill at home ($40 in a HCOL area)... it can be around $30~$60 to fill on the go, again depending on area... depending on gas cost and electricity cost, its somewhere around 65mpg equivalent, give or take.

from a quick search, looks like it gets about 2.3mi/kwh or .43kwh/mi...

1937 Buick Special. It’s mine now. This is where I learned that cool cars dont have to be fast, they dont have to have a ton of power. cool cars can just be slow, old, quirky, and temperamental.... and that’s just part of the charm.

yeah that’s what I meant.

yup... also the difference between nice repaved streets with clearly marked bike lanes, VS potholes everywhere and “what bike lane”

I’d say that most dickish drivers were already dicks from the start, but the lack of congestion due increased WFH allows them to just drive faster and be bigger dicks.

Look... to think a city has to be either for cars or car-free is rather silly. the problem is rather the way that US infrastructure and land developers work.

just because you’re an auto enthusiast doesnt mean you have to ignore all the issues that come along with them, and by acknowledging the issues, and simply doing better.

I grew up in Japan as well as the US, my grandparents rode scooters around in to their 90's, groceries weren’t really an issue... it was part of the business model for businesses that sold larger items for them to just deliver the item. family members with cars lived close and we had tons of good neighbors. everything

what’s wild is that Clinton, Bush, Trump, Biden are all 75+

I just saw the C3 and spaced.... totally forgot about the C1/2

Oh right. Duh. Corvettes in general…. I just saw a C3 and was like “wait a friggin minute those aren’t 70 years old…” totally spaced on the c1/2.

I think part of it is that the rest of the planet seems to still love cabovers, while the US got rid of (or relaxed, im not sure exactly) some of the length limits for trucks. this allowed US truckers to go back to having longer truck/nose... longer wheelbase/smoother, not sitting directly over the engine, more

these chromed out square trucks like these peterbilts running up and down the interstate.

you mean 60?

so technically if you do an engine swap, you are supposed to get it inspected by the highway patrol. in Cali, you cant swap gas/diesel, and when you swap you have to swap to a newer engine. also there’s restrictions like you cant put a truck engine in a car. that being said, pre-1975 cars that are smog exempt...

100% agree with the whole job thing here. I quit a 6 figure office job to go finish an engineering degree and do something I give a shit about. amongst one of the best decisions of my life. soooooooooooooo much less stress, worth every penny.

4th gear.... people do that because they’re all refundable deposits, and they’re willing to just take the first one that becomes available. demand is still eons ahead of supply.
