It’s freaking amazing. Trust me. Everyone I show it to, gamer or not, wants one.

Had mine since the launch date. It’s good. Really good. I’ve been playing video games since the 1980s. Never had a video game make my jaw drop in the way Vader did the first time I played it.
We got lucky. Learn the detailed history of the Cuban Missile Crisis and find out just how shockingly close to Armageddon we came. That is just one example.
I see what you’re saying and wish it was that simple. But it isn’t. Getting to full self-driving is a long, complex, and expensive proposition. If we don’t allow the industry to put products out to start generating revenue (and also comfort on the part of the public and regulators) as well as data to train the AI,…
I am a big proponent of self-driving cars and even the partial automation we have now, but I totally see the concern. My family bought a 2018 Honda Accord a year ago, and it has lane-keeping assist and radar cruise control. It is our first vehicle with these driving assist systems. They can be used to handle the gas…
Me too. Especially since our car has the wireless charging pad, but we never use it since CarPlay is not wireless. What’s the point? There are some rumors online that an upcoming patch will add that feature, but I don’t believe it, because Tesla is the only automaker on the planet that gifts big new features like that…
After buying a 2018 Accord last year, I actually have hope for infotainment screens now. Honda/Acura was previously known for some particularly shitty infotainment systems (we’ve had a few older ones), but they are turning it around. The 8' display in our car is Android based, highly responsive, ultra high resolution,…
Apple’s new emphasis on services actually makes sense to me. Better services makes their existing tech more useful. They are certainly still working hard on new/improved hardware, but what huge things can they really do to a smartphone right now? All the smartphone makers are struggling with that question. Look at…
Completely agree with you.
Very well put.
If I come across the video, I’m simply not going to click on it. And I definitely won’t propagate it by sharing it.
It’s not sticking your head in the sand. We can read the news to learn the important facts while still avoiding watching and sharing the horrific, gory details in high-def video. I can already imagine in sufficient detail how horrible it played out without giving myself PTSD by watching the damn thing.
It’s a tough problem for sure. Unfortunately, adding lanes, removing speed limit signs, and letting chaos ensure isn’t going to fix it. There is no simple fix. Either we have to get aggressive with new technologies (autonomous high-speed cars in a dedicated lane with some kind of wireless power solution, hyperloop…
It’s true NV freeways are WAY smoother than CA ones. At least they were the last time I did any serious drives there.
Agree with you that this bill has no chance at all of passing. I have to assume it was introduced just to generate headlines.
“Unsurprisingly my wife was not excited as I was.”
Sounds great! But these would surely be electric cars. The battery packs on those overheat if run at high speeds too long. And the range gets cut way down. Meaning you have to stop for charges more often, erasing any travel time gains from going faster. Maybe when the technology improves...
Bring a can of kerosene and a tank of liquid oxygen with you. See if the owner will let you crank if over, just for shits and giggles.
I do think Tesla can complete full autonomy this year, which is to say, their car will be able to drive itself without intervention and with an accident rate much lower than human drivers.
