I think this problem is overblown, there isn’t a world standard for electrical sockets and we do ok. Once EVs are more widely adopted we will have a more communal system. For now the focus needs to be expanding infrastructure.

In the state park near where I live two of the park rangers have these. These Explorers are pretty quick too with a 0-60 time of less than 6 seconds. Yes there are faster cars but it is faster than the average Civic.

When my Dad and I went to VIR this summer he slept in a tent and I slept in the back of our Subaru Outback. It was pretty comfortable, and I’d do it again, but I think I woke up slightly sore. Not too bad though.
