Over the years of junkyard trips I’ve grabbed these things whenever I’ve seen one in good shape.  All different sizes, styles, etc.  I now have a coffee can full of spares.  Probably one of the most useful things in my garage now.

Sure the deductible with many plans may be high, but typically with a high deductible plan all of your “basic maintenance” items (doctor visits, shots, etc) are covered for free or with a very low copay. Deductible kicks in if you have to go to the hospital or something.

Winter-time: full heat, and when I get hot I just turn off the fan until i get cold again.
