IDK, she’s been consistently working since she was a kid and there seems to be a lot of buzz about Ocean’s Eight this early before its release date and she’s in that. I’m sure The Bell Jar will get some buzz once it starts production, since Kirsten Dunst is writing/directing.

I mean, she’s been in about 2-3 movies a year for the past 5 years, including the Twilight movies (not my favorites, but big nonetheless). She was in The Runaways, and is set to star in Ocean’s Eight and in The Bell Jar (written by Kirsten Dunst and she will play Esther), so I would say she deserves to be featured.

I appreciate that. I watched the movie again now that it’s out on HBO, and they had a whole slew of psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers assessing both of the girls, just to add more detail to my previous answer.

Yes, what cop-related slurs should I be aware of in Louisiana? Did he call them 5-0? Donut Patrol? Pigs? Did he sing “I Shot the Sheriff”?

And no visual effects for Moana. FFS, they had an entire ocean visual effects team and an entire hair visual effects team. It was goddamn beautiful.

I got a very North Korean vibe from the name.

Absolutely. And one thing that the movie makes ridiculously clear is that there is plenty of “footage” of Slenderman on the internet, which makes it even more difficult to dismiss if you are already prone to believing those kinds of things. Some of the video material featured in the documentary is downright terrifying

I don’t remember the specifics of the diagnosis in the film (watched it at SXSW last year), but if I remember correctly, Morgan has a family history of schizophrenia and has a confirmed diagnosis, while Anissa was identified as having difficulty distinguishing fantasy from reality, but not a mental illness in the

I could not tell you. I have purposefully kept away from that shit. It goes in the same place in my head that the whole “trans-ethnic” thing does.

So, so much everything you said in that first paragraph. Apparently I’m supposed to give a shit about “otherkin” (people who believe they are an animal born in a human body), who apparently equate their struggles with those of transfolks and I just can’t. You don’t get to co-opt somebody else’s issue and tell me

Yeah, I think that’s it. I’m not a chanter, but as a Brazilian I do respond actively to drumming/clapping/singing, so I always feel a little out of place in American protests. Give me some drumming to respond to, and I’m there, but chanting is not as natural to me.

*Texas Legislature. Geez, I should not type in the morning.

I was also pleasantly surprised with the level of organization, the supporting organizations, and the speakers for the Austin Women’s March. Their sponsors included MALDEF (Mexican-American Legal Defense Fund) and Refugee Services of Texas, and their speakers included Rep. Senfronia Thompson (longest-serving black

My favorite part of her twitter handle is the REAL right before it. As if anyone out there is trying to impersonate Stacey Dash aka the most forgettable part of Clueless.

Seriously. I remember one year in college, this conservative group threw a giant event because Lord Monckton was coming to speak against climate change (he’s a climate change denier). Everybody made this big deal out of it, because “he’s a lord.” Okay, but that doesn’t automatically make him a genius. He doesn’t even

About 40-50,000 showed up in Austin. They expected 20,000.

This atheist woman was definitely there. It’s difficult to organize atheists because the only unifying factor is a non-belief in something. Plus, the few organizations that do exist where atheism is the primary connection are overridden with white men, many of whom are some brand of libertarian — generally speaking,

Actually, it’s a copy of Mein Kampf. He looked for a Bible, but he couldn’t remember what one looked like.

OMG I wasn’t paying too much attention while scrolling and I thought Candace Cameron Bure was a random actress in her 70s or something, based on a peripheral glance at her. Granny chic is correct.

My point was that Girl Scouts is not silencing anyone for “finding it out” and that there was no palm oil secret conspiracy. I don’t necessarily agree with them, but they are addressing it. At the end of the day, those are cheaply-made factory cookies that are intended for fundraising purposes. They make it so girls
