To be fair, they would have attended no matter who was elected, as the councils that will be sending girls had them sign up in September. If it were me, I would withdraw my Girl Scout, but if they’ve already paid to travel and attend that’s a hard sell for some parents.

Ummmm... it’s not a secret? It’s in their FAQ on their website. It’s also super disingenuous to be against an entire organization that supports girl leadership worldwide because the clearly factory-made cookies that they use as a fundraiser are subject to typical factory practices. You don’t have to buy or eat the

And IIRC, in that third picture, he was also playing a Hawaiian person in 50 First Dates. You can tell they changed his nose for it.

It was more contemporary style, but lots of pirouettes and developpes still. Even though I didn’t have visceral reaction that I have now, it wasn’t my favorite back then. I was more interested in being a snowflake in The Nutcracker haha.

That makes it infinitely worse that this happened in the early 2000s, then. :(

True story: I went to high school in West Texas for 2 years, and my ballet group performed to that song. I feel so embarrassed for 15-year-old me.

I didn’t intend to imply that most Swiss people are that way. Pretty much all Swiss people that I met were very friendly (and I appreciated

Sorry, I had to.

So, so weird. I lived in Geneva, so a lot more cosmopolitan, but those little villages... oof. I do miss my diet of good cheese and chocolate, though I don’t miss the crazy prices.

She’s definitely a popular figure in their political ads.

Yep, not exactly subtle. I couldn’t find it, but I distinctly remember seeing a billboard that just had a Middle Eastern woman in a niqab and it just said “Non” in big bold letters. Switzerland does have a small number of non-European minorities, but nowhere near the level of France (or any other Mediterranean

I can’t speak to the naturalization process, but Switzerland is very isolationist and more than a tad xenophobic. They are still part of the Schengen group, if I remember correctly, which allows Europeans living in member countries to travel freely to an from, but they are very hesitant to naturalize. I lived there in

(also, am I correct in my interpretation of your username being the rival school from FNL?)

Seriously, bail that high is for someone who’s an actual flight risk.

So much this. Several years ago, my state defunded Planned Parenthood and diverted that funding to CPCs and I still get so angry just thinking about it.

Thanks for pointing that out. I think part of the misconception is how pregnancy is portrayed in the media. In movies and on TV, if a pregnant woman trips, she loses the pregnancy, no matter how early or advanced it is.
