That wouldn’t be a good bet, I would think it would be that a man would be punished more severely. Many people on this thread have expressed sympathy for the presumably fragile mental status of the rapist, how often does that happen when a man rapes a woman who is unable to consent?

Honestly, I think the sentence would have been longer, given the facts - a male therapist raping a women in his care who couldn’t communicate and had the mental abilities of a toddler? He’d be lucky to escape a lynching.

Seems like if you’re a practitioner of a therapy that already isn’t completely accepted by the medical or scientific community that you should probably just abstain from sex with your clients if you don’t want to make your therapy look even more sketchy.
